Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using InsurLex.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the InsurLex platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users, including organizations that register for access and their authorized users.
2. Description of Service
InsurLex is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that provides AI-assisted translation of insurance report documents from Spanish to English. The Service preserves document formatting and applies client-specific glossaries and translation memory.
InsurLex is a technology tool, not a licensed translation agency or bureau. Translations are generated by artificial intelligence and should be reviewed by a qualified professional before use in legal, regulatory, or contractual contexts.
3. Account Registration
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Each account is associated with a single organization. You may not share your account with individuals outside your organization without prior written consent from InsurLex.
You must notify InsurLex immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Credits and Subscriptions
The Service operates on a credit-based system. Credits are denominated in pages (estimated at 300 words per page). Credits are non-transferable and non-assignable to other organizations.
Subscription credits are allocated at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over to subsequent cycles unless otherwise stated in your plan. Purchased credit packs do not expire.
Credits are deducted upon approval of a translation job, not at upload. Rejected or failed jobs do not consume credits.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to upload documents containing unlawful content, content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights, or content that violates applicable laws.
You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer, probe, or disrupt the Service, including its underlying AI models, APIs, or infrastructure.
InsurLex reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, including accounts that attempt to circumvent credit limits or upload restrictions.
6. Intellectual Property
InsurLex retains all rights in and to the platform, including its software, models, interfaces, and brand. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of InsurLex's intellectual property to you.
You retain ownership of all documents you upload. By uploading documents, you grant InsurLex a limited, non-exclusive license to process those documents solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
Translations produced by the Service are considered work product and are owned by the organization that commissioned them. InsurLex does not assert any rights over translated outputs.
7. Data Processing and Confidentiality
Documents uploaded to the Service are processed in isolated, per-organization pipelines. Files are encrypted in transit and at rest. Uploaded source documents are automatically deleted from our servers after the translated output has been generated.
We do not use your documents to train any AI model, fine-tune any system, or share your content with other clients. A full Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available upon request for Enterprise subscribers.
Your organization's glossary terms, translation memory, and usage analytics are retained while your account is active and for 30 days following account closure.
8. AI Disclaimer
The Service uses large language models to generate translations. While InsurLex applies domain-specific prompts, enforces glossary entries, and performs quality auditing, AI-generated translations may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
You acknowledge that AI translations are not a substitute for review by a qualified human translator or subject-matter expert. InsurLex is not liable for decisions made in reliance on unreviewed AI output.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, InsurLex's total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to InsurLex in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
InsurLex is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, even if InsurLex has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may cancel your subscription from the billing dashboard. Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease and any unused subscription credits will be forfeited.
InsurLex may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms or if continued access poses a risk to the Service or to other users.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration, except where prohibited by applicable law.
12. Changes to These Terms
InsurLex may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 30 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
